Best Vegan Mac and Cheese in the entire world...seriously

What you need:

1 1/2 pounds pasta, preferably macaroni "Cheese" Sauce:
1 1/2 cups unsweetened nondairy milk
1 1/2 cups nutritional yeast
1 cup canola or vegetable oil
1 cup water
1/3 cup tamari or soy sauce
1/4 (12 ounce) block firm (not silken) tofu
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon vegesal or in lack of fancy product, just use salt
1 dollop mustard, optional

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Boil water in a big pot and cook pasta according to package directions.
2. Add all of the "cheese" sauce ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Once pasta is cooked, drain and put it in the baking pan (about the size of a brownie pan). Pour the "cheese" sauce over the pasta.
3. Bake until the top of the pasta looks slightly browned and crispy, about 15 minutes.
This is very simple and tastes amazing! If you are cooking for yourself, it will last about 5 days if you eat it for all three meals of the day.

Preparation Time:
about 8 minutes; Cooking Time: 15 minutes

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This was gross it had an awful flavor...the only change I made was that I used rice milk instead of soy but still don't think it would've made a difference. I'm going to continue looking for a good mac n' cheese recipe.

I'm sorry but I made this and did not like it at all.
Not sure if it was too salty or garlicky, but it was very gross, and sorry I will not make this again and this is not the best vegan mac and cheese in the entire world...  ???

Hola.  I tried this recipe and I found it delicious.  Of course, I ate the whole thing in less than 4 days.  It was breakfast, lunch, and, sometimes, even dinner.  But I have a rather strange and embarrassing question, was your urine a strange color after eating this?  I'm truly embarrassed to ask this, but I'm very curious if this happened to anyone else.  ???

Yes, my urine looked like the ink from a yellow highlighter..... ;) It went away with some extra water, though. Weird.

;)b Great Recipe. I used extra yeast in fear it would not be creamy enough. This was my first attempt with veganizm cheese sauce.

It definetly has a cheese quality. I used organic whole wheat shells. It was tasty but I did end up adding fresh chopped green onion and tomato that i had in the fridge from the day before. That really added to the texture and flavors for me.

Overall next time I would leave out the water, use the recommended amount of nutritional yeast, and maybe add some tofutti sour supreme for texture like stouffers.

Ok for my first Vegan dish ever it was amazing... my only question is: is there something I can put in it to make it less bland?

Mustard is the usual thing to add.  To really zing it, add a small can of tomatoes and peppers, like Ro-Tel and about a tsp. of ground cumin.

I am overwhelmed by how good this recipe is. I feel like every day I had gone without eating this stuff was a day wasted. It is sooooo good!  :)>>>

Ever since I discovered your recipe I make it at least once a week for dinner. I can't get enough of this stuff. It tastes sooo cheesy. Even before I mix it in with the pasta and bake it, the cheesy sauce tastes so good. I use a little less soy sauce or it overpowers the rest of the flavour. But the soy sauce and mustard really help give it a cheesy zing.

I can't get nutritional yeast, so I use potato starch instead which still makes it nice and gooey. Yum!

Being new to the vegan world of cooking I found it hard giving up home made Mac and Cheese but luckily I found a new replacement.

This recipe was easy to prepare!  I slimed down on the oil,  made it with pasta shells and added some veggies and crumbled fake meat and it was fantastic!

Okay, I know I've already reviewed this twice, but I have more to say. Lately I've been making it Hamburger Helper-style by adding homeade spaghetti sauce, veggie crumbles and added soy cheese (Follow Your Heart Cheddar). Yum! Lasts soo long and its  very economical.

This was awful. This tastes nothing like mac and cheese and is just plain does not taste good at all. I followed the directions to a "T" and it tasted atrocious. The person I made this with took one bite and was disgusted by it. We have tried a lot of vegan recipes with good results, but this is terrible...Stay away. Go with a simpler recipe, one that uses soy cheese, much better results.
