Broccoli with Fresh Tomato Sauce

What you need:

1 head broccoli

1 small tomato

1/4 small onion

1 clove garlic

salt, to taste

3 tablespoons oil

What you do:

1. Steam Broccoli: Rinse brocooli, cut off stems, and separate florets into bite-sized pieces. Place a steamer basket in a pot and fill pot with 1 inch of water; bring to a boil. Add brocolli, cover, and reduce heat to medium; cook for 5 to 6 minutes. (If you don't have a steamer basket, place the broccoli directly into the pot.) The broccoli is done when it can be pierced with a fork.

2. Sauce: To a blender, add tomato, onion, garlic, and salt; blend until smooth.

3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, combine sauce and oil; stir and cook until tomato is a darkish red, 5 to 7 minutes.

4. Pour broccoli into the skillet; stir to coat. Serve.

You can also add pasta to this recipe. I usuallly use spiral or penne pasta.
