Chewy Gooey Brownies!

What you need:

1 cup unbleached, all-purpose flour
1 cup white granulated sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a mixing bowl, mix together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt).
2. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients (water, oil, and vanilla). Add the dry mixture into the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Stir in the nuts.
3. Spread batter into an 8" or 9" square baking pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, but keep checking for preferred doneness after 10 minutes - just eyeball it until it's as gooey or chewy as you like!
Source of recipe: These are seriously the most amazing brownies I've ever eaten!!! They're chewy but still gooey! Waaay better than regular brownies I used to make in my un-veggie days! Hope you love them!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

The best brownie recipe we've tried. Thank you for posting it. We cooked them too long (didn't think they were done when they were) and that is our only complaint. ;-)  I might try some of the modifications next time. And I'll only cook them for the given time. ;-)

I tried this again and followed the ingredients this time and they were still gross. Will not make again.

These were so moist and delicious. I wouldn't have guessed they were vegan!

Amazingly gooey and delicious.  I did not have the crumbly problem.  I have Celiac disease so I added 1 tsp of Xanthan gum and used rice flour.  Added EnjoyLife chocolate chips (free of the top 10 allergens, and vegan).  My boyfriend wouldn't try them (I have been experimenting with black bean brownies, which I think are delicious..he disagrees!) so I told them they were "real" (non-vegan) brownies..he LOVED them.

I changed the recipe a little bit but it was pretty good. I used almonds insted of walnuts which I will never do again. I used whole-wheat flour, coffee in place of the water and applesauce for the oil.

I absolutely love these brownies!  I've never been a fan of cake-like brownies and these  definetely are not that. I added 3 TBSP of applesauce to make them stay together better and baked them for 20 minutes.  They turned out great!

Meh. Not impressed. Crumbly and tasted more like a thin cake instead of gooey brownies. Won't make again.
