Chocolate Kava Chai Cupcakes (Stress Relief Cupcakes)
1/2 cup vegan vanilla yogurt
2/3 cup nondairy milk (I use Almond Milk)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/3 cup canola oil
1 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons ground flax seeds, optional
2 bags kava tea (I use Yogi)
1 bag chai tea (I use Tazo)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line cupcake pan with cupcake liners. Mix all wet ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Mix together with electric hand mixer until all are equally combined.
2. Slowly add in dry ingredients while continually mixing. Empty tea bag contents into bowl, and combine.
3. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full. Place in oven and let bake for 20 minutes.
4. Let cool for 30 minutes before frosting with a thick vanilla frosting also found under my recipes.

SO HOW'D IT GO?
These turned out great! My guy is very picky about cupcakes but he loved these. The kava tea in particular added a really nice flavor. I did use the flax seeds in this. The only major change is that I discovered that I was out of sugar, so I used agave nectar, but only about 1/4 cup. I did use the Thick Vanilla Frosting recipe (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=36943.0) and added some garam masala and ground coriander to it, which was a nice touch. I think there was enough sugar in the frosting that we weren't really missing it in the cupcake. I am definitely going to be making these again!
