Easy fruit & nut bars

What you need:

1 cup almonds
1 cup raisins or other dried fruit
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tablespoon unsweetened applesauce
1/2 tablespoon agave, optional
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter

What you do:

1. Place nuts, fruit and oats in a food processor. Blend until crumbly and fine.
2. Add the remaining (binding) ingredients and pulse until a ball forms. From here, you can go 2 different ways:
3. Remove dough onto waxed paper, divide into even portions, form into a bar, and wrap each separate bar in waxed paper. Refrigerate and grab as a quick snack. Or:
4. Press into a pan and cut into bars. Make sure to cover and refrigerate.
Any fruit and nut combo works with this recipe. I've made these with protein powder as well; just add more of the binding ingredients. Flax can be added as well. These are very handy and very easy to make.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This is a great, easy recipe! The first time I made them, the raisins were so sweet the agave syrup was definitely not needed. I used half almonds and half sunflower seeds since that's all I had. Also I didn't have any applesauce so I used a little bit of banana. They were so freaking good!!!

The second time I used dates, almonds and a little bit of cacao nibs with the other ingredients. I messed up because they were drier than before. I think I'll try for a third time today.

Either way, I can't post any pics because I couldn't stop eating the bars!
