Falafel Nuggets

What you need:

1 cup falafel mix (I buy mine in bulk at either Whole Foods or Wild Oats)
3/4 cup hot water

What you do:

Mix the falafel mix with the hot water and let sit for 15 minutes. After 15 min, heat some canola or olive oil in a skillet and shape the falafel into small, nugget sized patties. Fry on each side until golden brown. Serve with your favorite sauce. My 2-1/2 year old LOVES these, as do my husband & I.

Preparation Time:
15 min

Servings:

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Cute idea!  Mine ended up kind of falling apart a bit, so I think I'll use a little less water next time.  Also, I think I will add some shredded cheeze to the mixture next time, just to make it a little more interesting. Very tasty!  Thanks again!

Thanks for this idea! I have made the falafel always in the little balls, but my children are very picky. (18 months and 3). I think I will give it a shot shaping them into "nuggets"!

I agree.  This recipe helped me decide what to do with the box of falafel mix I had sitting around.  Thanks, it was great.

Well, I had a bunch of falafel I got from a bulk store sitting around which I had completely forgotten about.  I found it in the cupboard but didn't know what to do with it.  I looked online but mainly found recipes to actually make falafel (crushing the chickpeas, etc.) until I found this recipe.  So it definitely helped.
