SO HOW'D IT GO?

I didn't have any celery, but I added Nutritional Yeast for more complexity and replaced the flour with Vital Wheat Gluten, making the patty nice and chewy. Good stuff, yo!

These are great burgers. My meat eating husband loved them. I put red pepper, onion and mushroom in mine. I loved how they turned out and am already thinking about different seasonings that can be used. This a very versatile recipe and I will be making this again.

I don't know why mine came out so different from everyone else's...I made these for lunch for my family today and they were very dry tasting. I have had that experience before when making burgers with chickpeas, so maybe it's just those, or maybe I needed to add more of something. palatable, but not desirable.

These are the best alternative burgers I have ever had in my life.
The didn't hold together well, which would be semi-annoying if I weren't practically having an orgasm right now.
I'll try adding egg replacer next time.
These are freakin' delicious!

These held together well (I might have used more oil) but were soooooo plain! By themselves the burgers were bland but tasted fine with all the fixings... I think a lot of extra spices would make these burgers great... I fried mine with cooking spray instead of oil

good.  needed some more zip, so we added garlic, red pepper, cayenne and cumin to the mix.  much better.  I added a flax egg to hold it together and it worked well.  I'd double recipe next time, probably add even more garlic and cayenne and freeze some for a quick meal.  Although the prep for this is pretty minimal if you have cooked beans.

Thanks for the yummy recipe.

AWESOME bean burgers! A definite keeper! I cooked up the onion/celery/carrot and some garlic first.... and they came out super tasty!

I am curious about baking instead of frying these, too! I might try that next time.

These were really great. They smelled divine and tasted awesome. ;)b

I made 4, not 6. Though I used oatmeal in place of the flour, so that may have contributed.

I also added a little olive oil to the mix to help it stick better before frying. Perhaps I’ll invest in some Enger-G egg replacer and give that a try as they still fell apart as bit, but went back together nicely.

Has anyone tried baking these? I think next time I’m going to give that a shot.

Good stuff-- a great alternative to highly processed, store-bought "burgers."

I subbed wheat bran for 1/4 cup flour and then still added a little flour because it made the patties hold together better. Used zucchini instead of onion... and added a lemon-pepper-garlic seasoning to it for a little kick.

One caveat: note the recipe's specification of two cups *cooked* beans. I cooked two cups of dried beans and had left over beans. Oops!

i made these for my very picky 16 month old and she loved them. i thought they were good too. they were very simple to make and came out a lot better then other bean burgers i've tried to make.
