Ginger Broccoli

What you need:

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 heads broccoli (about 2 pounds), florets separated, stalks trimmed, peeled, and thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
1 piece fresh ginger (1" long), peeled and slivered
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
coarse salt and ground pepper, to taste

What you do:

1. In a large skillet with a lid, heat oil over medium; add broccoli, garlic, and ginger. Cook until broccoli is bright green and ginger is fragrant, about 2 minutes.
2. Add water; cover, and cook until broccoli is crisp-tender, 6-8 minutes.
3. Remove from heat; add lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper; toss to combine. Serve.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Good simple recipe for broccoli lovers. I added a little peanut chile sauce to give it a kick and served over ramen noodles.

Delicious!  I probably added a lot more garlic and ginger though.....will definitely be making this often!

This IS fantastic! I added sliced carrots to mine and probably tripled or quadrupled the ginger because I LOVE LOVE LOVE ginger. I ate it by itself because I make simple meals when I'm cooking for myself but I'm sure it would be great over rice or in spaghetti, especially with a little balsamic vinegar or veg broth to make it a bit saucier, maybe?

Looks good!  :P May I ask what you serve it with? Just by itself or maybe bread or rice? Thanks  :)
