SO HOW'D IT GO?

That's good to know there are oreo-esque options that are gluten free! Living in a veg friendly city, I am surprised that I haven't seen them already!

Danish Dessert Powder is probably these:

Looks like there is a raspberry flavor as well. The only questionable ingredient (besides the type of sugar they use), as pertaining to being vegan, is glycerine. Glycerine (glycerol) is the backbone molecule of fats (triglycerides, specifically), and can be either vegetable- or animal-derived. You'd have to ask the company to be sure.

another thought, what is dainish desert powder and does it come in other flavors.  I miss Jello, so this could be yummy.

Mi-Dell makes a great GF "oreo" sandwich cookie, so does Sharr and Kinnikinick and maybe Glutino too, I can't remember.  Whether or not they are vegan I don't know, but many GF foods are egg and dairy free so they might be.

Well, the recipe author does state "Oreo-style," not "Oreos."  Maybe there is some brand out there that makes gluten-free "Oreo-style" cookies.

Newman's Os does have a wheat-free version (made with barley flour; barley does contain gluten). This recipe could probably more accurately be called "wheat free" (if made with the wheat free Newman's Os) rather than "gluten free."

After some searching....maybe these?

Sounds yummy, but aren't the oreos going to be made with flour, which makes them not gluten-free???

Um, are Oreos gluten-free?
