Homemade Marzipan

What you need: 

200gm raw almonds (skin on)
200gm vegan confectioners sugar
rosewater

What you do: 

**As you can see you need equal quantities (by weight) of almonds and vegan sugar.
Process the almonds in a food processor until very finely ground.
Add the sugar and process until blended.
Process while adding enough rosewater to produce a very stiff, dough-like consistency.
Store in refrigerator.
Excellent for use in Christmas stollen.

Alrighty finally made the nut free version for anyone interested :).

I followed the purportions of the recipe above just subbing tahini for the almond meal, moistening it with maple syrup (my tahini was a little dry), and adding equal parts immitation almond and real vanilla extract (a little over an 1/8th of a teaspoon per half cup of paste). For those with severe nut allergies please be aware that even immitation almond extract may not be safe for you. My nut allergy does not give severe respritory reactions so the most i risk is vomiting repeatedly but all has been good thus far :). Enjoy!

Lol pretty close huh? Just firmer and with almond flavoring :p. Thank for hte input that wouldnt have occured to me.

I cant have nuts do you suppose this could be replicated with tahini and some almond flavoring? I used to get marzipan every time i went to the 99cent store or farmers market  and id love to be able to have it again  ;D .
