Hot Peanut Cream

What you need:

1 cup RAW natural peanut butter
1/2 cup vegan sweetener (rice malt syrup, molasses, etc.)
1 cup boiling water

What you do:

Mix the peanut butter and the sweetener together. I use molasses because I need the iron. You can use any vegan syrup sweetener. You can also add malt powder.
To make the drink, take 1-3 (or so hehe) tablespoons of the peanut/sweetened mixture and put it in a jar with the boiling water. Put the lid on tight. With pot holders, pick up jar and shake the bejeezus out of it. Shake it till all the peanut butter is dissolved.
Open, pour into a mug and enjoy the warm, creamy steamy goodness! I drink this every night to help me go to sleep.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I feel sure these proportions can't be right.  1/4 cup of peanut butter stirred or shaken into 1 cup of hot water thickens up into a spoonable, puddinglike sauce too thick to pour (or drink!)  But the idea sounds wonderfully tasty.

If you noticed, though, author says to use only 2-3 tablespoons for the hot water amount mentioned in the recipe. I think the idea here is to make a 'concentrate', and to use a little bit of it at a time. I would guess you'd refrigerate the left over mixture....?

You're right, though. It does sound yummy. I'll have to try this.  :)
