Insanely Instant Miso Ramen Soup

What you need:

1 100g package instant dried ramen noodles, any flavor (I use Ichiban brand)
2 1/4 cups water
1 tablespoons of your favorite miso
1/4 cup thinly sliced onion (red)
1/2 cup sliced carrot
1/2 cup frozen peas
1/4 cup sliced celery, optional
1/4 cup chopped red pepper, optional
handful dried sliced shitake mushrooms, optional

What you do:

Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan. While the water is heating up, chop your veggies and place the miso in a small bowl. Just before the water is boiling, pour off a small amount of water to dissolve the miso in.
Open the noodles, throw away the little poison packet in disgust, and put the noodles into the boiling water. Dump in all your veggies except for the peas and stir. While the noodles cook, mix your miso and water into a paste.
After 3-5 minutes the noodles should be cooked. Pour the noodles from the pot into a large bowl. Add the frozen peas and miso. Stir. The heat will cook the peas and the peas will cool the soup -win win! Enjoy.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far as I understand, those noodles are deep fried.  Look at the fat content in the nutritional info on the packaging.  So, it's not just that little packet that's poison.

There are many different brands of ramen. Not all are deep-fried.

Great idea to use miso instead of those disgusting soup packets. I always flavor mine with soy sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder. I am going to use miso instead. Thanks for the tip.
