Legume Patties

What you need: 

1/2 cup washed dry garbanzos (chick peas)
1/2 cup washed dry lentils
1/2 cup washed dry barley
2 tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Aminos, Maggi seasoning or soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup ground sunflower seeds (or favorite nut)
1/4 cup fine whole wheat bread crumbs
2 teaspoons onion powder or 1 onion finely diced
2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon thyme
water if needed
any other seasonings preferred

What you do: 

Make sure beans and barley are dry. Place beans and barley in blender and grind fine. Place in large bowl and pour 2 cups boiling water over and let stand one half hour. Add remaining ingredients. If mixture seems too dry add a little more water. Mix well, then form into patties, and brown on oiled, low temperature fry pan. Turn after 15 minutes and brown on the other side. Keep lid on pan while cooking; this way they will not stick and will cook all the way through.
