Macaroni with Canned Veggies

What you need: 

14 oz macaroni (any kind will do)
2 carrots
10 oz can of mushrooms
9 oz can green peas
1 clove of garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon all purpose seasoning or salt
4 or 5 tablespoons tomato sauce/paste/ketchup
oil

What you do: 

Peel the carrots and slice into thin circles. Put about 7 cups of water to boil. Add salt and carrots. Cook carrots for 3 minutes, add macaroni and cook until ready (about 7 to 12 minutes).
Cut mushrooms. Drain the peas. In a large frying pan heat some oil. Add mushrooms and peas; add finely chopped garlic and all purpose seasoning of your choice. Fry until lightly brown.
By this time the pasta should be cooked. Drain it and add to the pan.
Add tomato sauce or tomato paste or ketchup and mix well. Leave covered for about 1 minute to heat the macaroni.
You can also add some mayo and pepper. I've made this with soy sausages - this fooled everyone.

Does that mean the peas you use are canned in vinegar?

no, it's water+salt i suppose. but they really taste different than fresh or frozen. i think you could get similar taste by boiling fresh or frozen ones.  ;) the vinegary taste comes from mushrooms, but you could just add a tablespoon or so of vinegar if you prefer.

i am a huge fan of vinegary things so sometimes i make this to treat myself.

Myesss vinegar-y goodness! Does that mean the peas you use are canned in vinegar? Have you tried it with spicy pickled green beans? I want to try this, but I think instead of canned mushrooms I'll use fresh and instead of peas Ill try spicy pickled green beans and let ya know how it turn out  :D

It looks yummy - but wouldnt it be nicer with fresh mushrooms and peas instead of canned?

i made this when i was out of everything but a lot of canned stuff. of course, it's much more healthier to use fresh vegetables, but i am a huge fan of vinegary things so sometimes i make this to treat myself.
