Meaty Hotdog Chili
2 packs of Lightlife burger-style crumbles
1 medium size can tomato sauce
1 cup water
1/8 to 1/4 cup chili powder
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon onion powder
Put all ingredients into a saucepan and heat on medium temp (start with smaller amount of chili powder). Stir often checking water level. You want this to be thick and chunky, it will start out more watery but as it cooks it will thicken. Let simmer to blend flavors 20 minutes minimum.
Taste test to see if you need more chili powder once it has simmered a bit. I usually add salt and pepper after the taste test.
This is specifically for hotdogs or chili buns based on my mother's hamburger version.
