Not another bean burger

What you need:

1 cup dry quinoa 2 cups water 2 jalapenos, roughly chopped 2 carrots, roughly chopped 3 stalks celery, roughly chopped 3 (15 ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and drained 2 cups oats 2 tablespoons paprika 2 tablespoons garlic powder or minced garlic pinch salt (I used raw pink salt) 2 tablespoons flax oil, as needed (I used organic cold pressed olive oil)

What you do:

1. To begin, add quinoa to pot with water, and bring to boil. Cover and simmer until done, about 15 minutes. Put jalapenos, carrots, celery into food processor. Grind into small bits. 2. When quinoa is cooked, put beans, veggie bits, and oats into same bowl and squish with a big spoon. Add spices and garlic. 3. Add flax, and mash all ingredients (except oil) together. Form into patties. Cook in oil until golden on each side. Yum! To reheat, just throw onto your cast iron skillet!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I just made these for dinner tonight for myself, omni DS18, and my 20 mo. grandson. They were a hit. I am thinking that adding onion would be good also. I got 19 patties that were about 1/3 c. each. Also, I cooked them on my griddle so I could fit 8-12 0n it at a time and the cooking went faster than the recipe stated. Definitely a keeper.

Made a batch today for dinner.  Some of them broke up when removing from the pan, but they were all delicious!  Next time I will use onion and a bit more salt for a little extra flavor

4 stars!
