;)b WOW, this is majorly yummy!!!! I think I have found my favorite potato soup recipe! I have tried several and they were bland but this soup is definitely NOT bland. What a good treat for a cold night!!!! As my grandma would say, " it's so good, it makes your tongue wanna slap your brains out"!!!

Any suggestions for where to find vegan chicken seasoning? Can I just use a mix of herbs or is there something special about this seasoning? Bouillon? I'd like to avoid buying something new - limited pantry space. Thanks!

I couldn't find it at our local store so I used this, and it turned out great http://www.veganpeace.com/recipe_pages/recipes/GoldenSeasoning.htm

We just made this soup and had it for dinner... it was AMAZING. We cut the recipe in half (because there are only 2 of us), I didn't add the water because we wanted it to be more creamy and we added a diced jalapeno for some heat. I couldn't find vegan chick'n seasoning at our local store, so I followed this recipe http://www.veganpeace.com/recipe_pages/recipes/GoldenSeasoning.htm. It seriously was the best potato soup we've ever had. Thanks for the recipe  :)

I was looking for some comfort food, since I'm feeling sick.  Oh, this hit the spot!  Thank you for posting.  I only made a 1/2 batch, figuring I'd eat leftovers for a while - but my non-vegan hubby ate more than half!  Now I know if I want any for leftovers, I've got to make the whole recipe each time. . .

This soup is tasty. The hubby and I cooked this one together, which was fun! We used red potatoes instead of golden. We also added cayenne, more black pepper, and chopped garlic (in lieu of garlic powder). The more it simmers, the creamier it seems to get. The hubby scooped out a round loaf of sourdough bread and ate the soup out of his "bread bowl," San Francisco clam chowder style (so cute!). In fact, I kind of thought the vegan bacon bits had the texture of bits of clam after they soaked up some of the soup. Next time, I might reduce the amount of the soy margarine by half (1 stick seems like overkill). Overall, we both give it a thumbs up. A very good soup for a cold rainy (or snowy) day!

This recipe is absolutely deeeeeelicious!  It was so rich I could hardly stand it!  I froze a bunch of it for future meals.  I used Morningstar Farms' frozen bacon (not vegan) because I didn't have bacon bits, but the rest was totally vegan.  I used a bag of frozen organic sweet corn rather than creamed, and I pureed about 1/3 of the soup to make it creamier.  YUMMMMMM! :D
