Raw Banana-Oat Breakfast

What you need:

1 banana
1/4 cup oat grouts, soaked overnight and dried
Currents or raisins, as desired
Agave, to taste

What you do:

For the oat grouts, I like to make a lot of them at one time. Soak them overnight and then rinse well. Place in your dehydrator (or low oven) to dry them out.
1. Peel and slice banana. Place in bowl with oat grouts and raisins. Add a splash of agave (I use about 1/2 tablespoon) for sweetness. Stir together and enjoy!
You can also add other spices or fruits. It is very versatile!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I would really like to make this, but I don't have a dehydrator or a gas stove. Is there another way to dry the grouts?

New strict vegetarian so forgive my ignorance....what is an out grout?? I also saw buckwheat grout?? Help??? :)

Thanks so much

oat grouts are just rolled oats BEFORE they've been steamed. They look a little like steel cut oats, but bigger (because they aren't cut).

I made this for breakfast this morning, with strawberries instead of raisins, and it was yummy! About 100 calories less than my usual cereal + soymilk + fruit combo, yet actually more satisfying. And oat groats are way cheap, so I'll definitely be making this again.
