Refreshing Cucumber Lemonade

What you need:

1 cucumber, peeled and sliced
1 lemon or lime, sliced (flat/circular), optional
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
2-3 tablespoons sugar

What you do:

1. Place cucumber slices in pitcher. Add lemon slices, if using.
2. Fill the pitcher with cool (preferably filtered) water. For a stronger flavor, allow the cucumber/lemon water to set in the refrigerator for 1-5 hours (longer is better) before continuing to the next steps.
3. Once the water is nice and cucumber-y, add the lemon juice and sugar. Stir well, and adjust flavor, as necessary.
For the best results (a light, sweet, and refreshing beverage) add as little sugar and lemon juice as possible (without killing the flavor). I believe the lemonade is more flavorful after settling overnight. Have variations of ingredients for this recipe? Feel free to share in the comments below!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I made this for my boyfriend's family's fourth of July party. Everyone enjoyed it very much and I have been telling everyone to try making it themselves. Thanks for sharing, this is great!

Lemonade is just so lovely in its versatility, isn't it? I'd love to try it with cucumber. I saw another recipe that called for an infusion of grated ginger and cayenne pepper. It's excellent!
An easy way to get pink lemonade is to simply add a small handful of frozen fruit (cherries are best). It's so fun fishing the fruit out.
