SO HOW'D IT GO?

@ninefatstalks...no it is not the same. Chili sauce can be found right next to the ketchup in a supermarket, it is sweet not hot. Heinz makes a version.  Hope that helps.

What, exactly, is chili sauce?  I have a bottle of srirachas in my fridge, but I'm a little nervous about using 1/2 cup of it in anything.  Is that the same kind of chili sauce to which this recipe refers?

Really, really tasty BBQ sauce. I added about a 1/4 cup of Agave nectar, for a little extra sweetness.

This is really good in a pinch! I burned a can of baked beans and really wanted something to go with my macaroni salad and hot dog so I tried this with a can of northern beans, threw in a few onion slices and ended up with something much better than what it replaced. The only modification other than the onions was I substituted half the brown sugar with molasses, though I'm not sure this made any difference really. Thanks!
