Vegan Chocolate Frosting

What you need:

1 cup vegan margarine, at room temperature
4 cups powdered sugar (make your own by blending sugar and cornstarch)
dash salt
2 tablespoons vanilla
4 tablespoons nondairy milk
1/2 cup cocoa powder

What you do:

1. Blend margarine until mushy.
2. Add vegan powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, milk, and cocoa (all remaining ingredients).
3. You can add in more milk to make it a bit smoother, but not too much. Spread on cake and enjoy.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This is probably the best frosting I've tasted in a long time!  I halved the recipe and still have leftover frosting.  What am I going to do about that... :) I put the frosting on some chocolate cupcakes for my friends birthday-- She loved them!

I made this for an event at my daughter's school! All of the kids loved it and so did the teachers! I used earth balance vegan whipped butter spread and it was a perfect consistency (omitted the salt).  :) THANKS!

WOWWWW

This recipe was PHENOMENAL!  I used half of the powdered sugar (because I didn't have enough) and it was still sweet and amazing!  I actually will continue to do it that way... it really doesn't need any more!  I made a round, quadruple layer Vegan chocolate cake and crumbled vegan mint chocolate cookies on top of the frosting.  Everyone was going nuts over the cake.  They asked me to make it again!

I am not vegan, and 95% of my friends arent either, but everyone was obsessed, and it was all about this frosting.  GOOD JOB!  THANKS FOR POSTING IT!

This looks SO SO GOOD! I wonder if I can use chocolate soy milk instead of regular soymilk?

I'm having a chocolate craving, so I think I might make this to eat straight out of the bowl.  :)

I would say definitely! ;)b

This was really good! I wanted something that tasted just like the old Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker storebought bad-for-you frosting and this was IT! My definate go-to chocolate frosting!

I liked this! But I made 12 cup cakes and I only needed half...I used nuttelex and soy milk. Yum! :)

This is a great vegan frosting recipe. I used vanilla soymilk the first time I made it, and it tasted strange. The second time I made it I used water instead of soymilk, and it turned out deliciously
p.s. this is also a good vanilla frosting recipe, by omitting the chocolate.... :>

I did not like this recipe. It is too sugary-sweet but I don't know what it is that I don't like about it. I really loved buttercream icing (non-vegan) which is rich and sugary so I don't know what about it I don't like.

I think I will try melting semisweet morsels instead of cocoa - which is bitter.

My omni husband liked it though?
