Vegan Chocolate Frosting

What you need:

1 cup vegan margarine, at room temperature
4 cups powdered sugar (make your own by blending sugar and cornstarch)
dash salt
2 tablespoons vanilla
4 tablespoons nondairy milk
1/2 cup cocoa powder

What you do:

1. Blend margarine until mushy.
2. Add vegan powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, milk, and cocoa (all remaining ingredients).
3. You can add in more milk to make it a bit smoother, but not too much. Spread on cake and enjoy.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I fiddled with things some, and then it was amazing! Everyone (nonvegans) loved it!

:( I must have done something wrong, it turned out tasting terrible: too sweet, too bitter, too vanilla-ey.
I used:
Soy Garden Margerine
Wholesome Sweetners Organic Powdered Sugar
Meijer Pure Vanilla Extract
Westsoy Organic Soymilk- Original
Chatfield's Premium Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
365 Sea Salt- Fine Crystals.

Any ideas, anyone?

did you add something twice?

Absolutely fabulous! I made this to go with the easy vegan chocolate cake and the combo was so good it was lethal!!! My pancreas is still recovering!!! I only had butter, no margarine, so I used some organic, non-hydrogenated vegetable shortening that I had and that worked out beautifully. Lesson learned: margarine and shortening can be used as straight substitutions. I also used confectioner's sugar to give it a finer, less 'grittier' texture then what regular sugar would give to it. Wonderful, wonderful recipe!

Fabulous!  I omitted the cocoa powder to make vanilla frosting on top of dark chocolate cupcakes and it was perfect!  I spread it on while cupcakes were still warm and that worked very well in terms of texture and appearance.  Highly recommended!

Wow!!  This frosting was amazing - so creamy!  I cut the recipe in half and topped brownies with it.  :)

Yeah! This recipe goes great with any kind of cake! I warmed the soy milk because my mom always used to do that. Very rich and creamy frosting...perfect!

i also halfed it. it was perfect with the easy vegan chocolate cake recipe. a lil too sweet though. i doubled the vanilla by accident and it turned out still good. i put in twice the soy milk to to get it creamier.

I used just a drop less vanilla and added about two drops of mint.  i LOVE CHOCOLATE, and could nargue that it is a major food groupn(just kidding!) and I had my doubts that the chocolate-loving genes I inherited would me disappointed.  No way---this is delicious.  i didn't feel deprived at all!
