SO HOW'D IT GO?

Very good! I used french bread and sliced it pretty thick. I used a little less flour then it called for. I also used whole wheat flour. I used half the sugar but I think next time I'll do the whole amount. On top I had cream cheese and blueberries. Oh yea I also had a little nutmeg in the mixture. I never really liked french toast before because they tasted eggy. And I hate the taste of eggs. But these were very yummy so if your not a french toast lover don't let that discourage you from making them.

I was only making this recipe for myself, so I cut it down to 1/4.  It's a good thing too, since if I hadn't done that, I would have devoured everything.  I'm not a french toast lover, but this was really good.  Will def make again, and maybe add a little more vanilla flavoring, since I only used plain soymilk.

I totally agree! This was YUM-MEE! I think the key is to just dip the bread into the mix for a couple seconds, dont drench it. Using dense bread, not wonderbread or whatever, will totally help too! Then fry on med to med-low for a loonngg time. It gets a nice crunchy outside without leaving the inside soggy! I used some splenda brown sugar in place of regular and added some ground flax seed for fun. I also like to use pumpkin pie spice since that has cinnamon, nutmeg, etc in it. Great recipe!

We made this for our picky toddler and he loved it! We loved it too. Can't wait to make this one again.

i'm a big fan of all things toasty, but even as a kid i was never really into french toast. i have to say, though, this was a really nice, easy recipe, and i'm pretty sure i'll make it again. i think the best part is how good it smelled! i just made one slice for myself, and it was a nice sunday morning breakfast. i highly recommend using a tiny bit of earth balance in the pan for the "frying" - it doesn't come out too greasy, and it really adds to the flavor.  8-)

Very good, I made the mixture 1/2 as much and it made 8 pieces.
The first time I tried, I messed it up haha.

This was a very simple and excellent recipe. Since it's in season, I replaced half the vanilla soy milk with vegan "egg nog" (Silk's "Nog"), thinking it might give the toast a more complex, slightly eggy flavor. I was also quite generous with the cinnamon, and even added a little nutmeg. I cooked it up on a non-stick skillet with no hitches. It tasted delicious!

This was really delicious. I made it for my family for Christmas brunch, and everyone really liked it! Unfortunately, I only had about 1/2 c. of soymilk left in my fridge (::)), so I used that, along with 1/2 c. Silk Nog, and 1 c. Silk Hazelnut Creamer. I also added some nutmeg along with the cinnamon, and let my toasted sourdough bread soak in the mixture for about an hour.

They were perfectly warm & moist on the inside, and crisp around the edges! I also threw these under the broiler for a few minutes after frying to crisp them up! I served these with the Cheesy Potato Casserole recipe from this site, and it was just perfect! I am so happy this French Toast turned out, as I have tried several before, and they were just blech! Yay! :D
