vegan mushroom tenders

What you need: 

one pack of king oyster mushroom ( 4 in a pack usually)

generous amount of oil for frying

for wet batter:

3.5 oz of popato starch

1/2 cup water

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 1/2 tsp oregano

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt (add more if you like salty food)

for dry batter

3 oz whole wheat flour

.7 oz potato starch

 

 
 
What you do: 

1. wash mushrooms and store in freezer overnight 

2. thaw it for 5~10 min

3. cut each mushrooms into 4 pieces and then slit the left and right side of quartered mushrooms 

3. mix all wet batter ingredients in a bowl and put mushrooms in, coat them well

4. mix dry batter in a zip lock bag and put mushrooms in and shake them well

5. heat oil and fry them twice for golden brown color

Wow!! There are some dishes that transport me back to my childhood within a spoonful... Cream of mushroom is one of those dishes. See to it that you wash mushrooms and store in freezer overnight. Thanks a lot for the post...!!
