Vegan Sloppy Joes

What you need:

1 pound firm tofu, frozen, thawed and crumbled
2 teaspoons nutritional yeast
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 medium onion, chopped
1 red or green bell pepper, chopped
oil
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup molases
1/3 cup brown sugar (or sweetener of your choice)
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce/tamari
1 teaspoon, or to taste, chile sauce (I use sriracha)

What you do:

1. Fry first five ingredients over medium heat (through bell pepper) in a little oil until tofu is nicely browned and onions and peppers softened, 5-7 minutes.
2. While tofu is cooking, combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. The amounts are guidelines, feel free to adjust to your taste.
3. When tofu is browned, add sauce, stir together and heat through.
Source of recipe: Veganized version of basic sloppy joes. Even after cooking these myself, I couldn't tell I wasn't eating meat. Sneak some to an omni and see if they can tell.
