1 cup whole wheat flour
3/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
1/4 cup plain unsweetened vegan yogurt
Water, as needed
Oil for cooking
1) Sift together flour and salt. Rub in the margarine. Stir in yogurt until a dough forms and finish working it together with your hands. Sprinkle a bit of water on it and work in with hands if needed to form a smooth dough. Knead for about 5 minutes and then let rest for at least 1 hour.
2) Divide the dough into 8 portions. Roll into a ball and then flatten with your hands or a rolling pin. Set aside.
3) Heat oil in a skillet over medium low. When it starts to sizzle place the dough in it. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining dough.
You can use a little more or little less salt depending on the margarine or personal preference. I wanted a flavorful bread that required little effort. This would be good for experimentation with different spice combos or maybe try sweetening it
