DalVeg added a comment on the recipe "Blackies" (Black Bean Brownies):
I made them for my Mom who does not eat gluten. This recipe was a nice alternative to rice flour (which is what we normally use when baking).

Made these with soaked and pureed dates instead of sugar.  I think that the sticky dates and some added "flax eggs" helped bind everything together a bit better.
DalVeg added a comment on the recipe "Egg" Salad Sandwiches:
I mashed some of the tofu and cut the rest into tiny cubes (I remember egg salad sandwiches being pretty chunky).  Oh, and I added a tablespoon of relish.
DalVeg added a comment on the recipe Rhubarb Crisp :
This made a nice sweet and sour crisp.

I used whole wheat flour, Stevia for my sweetener, and replaced half of the rhubarb with cubed apples.

DalVeg added a comment on the recipe Any Berry Slump :
I made this for myself at a family dinner because the dessert everyone else was having was not vegan.  I really, really liked it and it was relatively simple to make.  Thanks!
DalVeg added a comment on the recipe Peanut Butter and Chocolate Oatmeal :
I made this for dinner the only night (I was craving something sweet :) ).  I didn't have maple syrup, so I mashed a banana into the oatmeal instead.  Yum!
DalVeg added a comment on the recipe Tangy-Sweet Red Cabbage:
I didn't have raisins on hand so I chopped up some dates.  With such simple ingredients, I was surprised at how the cabbage took on such good sweet and sour flavoring.  I'll be try
DalVeg added a comment on the recipe Southwest Flax Crackers:
I don't have a dehydrator yet, so I baked these in the oven.  They didn't get quite crisp enough (they turned out more like pita bread), but they are still flavorful.
DalVeg added a comment on the recipe Raw Brownies!:
I am in love with these brownies.
