This came out of a discussion on Q and A about a typical Pittsburgh "Slav soul food" dish of cabbage and noodles, with lashings of butter/marge and hot sauce (at least and_it_spoke voted for
I made this today using about a cup and a half of stewed plum-and-apple, and three overripe bananas, which I beat up well with the liquid ingredients before adding half oat flour and half wheat.
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was! I was a little unsure of the combination but it is definitely a keeper! I did add a pinch of cumin because I used spicy paprika instead of cayenne.
I forgot to soak my lentils, so I had to add extra liquid. I cooked it over a heat diffuser to stop it sticking. Delicious! I served it over brown rice and it is hearty and warming.
