Well, the press has certainly taken notice of a horrible situation, and I only hope the media attention will lead to some serious action.

I had to force myself to get through the entire article. It was horrifying and extremely depressing.
I just donated to Island Dog, but it's hard to believe that it will help much with the situation as bad as it is...

i indirectly "know" the woman who started amigos de animales and she says they've had an outpouring of support - everything from letters of encouragement to small donations to multi-thousand-dollar donations. in a tough situation like this, i know any and all support is appreciated. this is a fight to implement change and it's warming to know people care enough to help out.
