I'm up for it..food and whatever else. Austin would probably be better since Green's in SA isn't open on Saturdays.
As far as where...I've never been to any of the restaurants in Austin so whichever one is best/most popular.
when - I'm pretty booked for the month of January so anytime after that. What about the second saturday in Feb/March when Casa de Luz has vegan pizza?! I've always wanted to try it.
who - me...I might drag my mom along if you guys don't mind (and if she wants to come). She recently went vegan and would probably find it cool to go to a restaurant where she could order anything off the menu.
I'd also be driving since I'm coming from SA and my car can seat 5. I'd be down for a movie or whatever.

I dont think casa de luz has vegan pizza, but the parlor does have vegan pizza. and its really good. the parlor is a bar/venue and is pretty awesome. and much cheaper than casa de luz. its also near a really awesome infoshop, record store and coffee shop. so we could do the north loop and get pizza at the parlor.
ETA: youre right. casa does have pizza on the 2nd saturday for dinner. that would be fine with me! and its all you can eat pizza + sides which beats the parlor in my mind.
feburary and march is also perfect for me. i love all of those places, but casa's would be my favorite since the environment is so peaceful.

i think i'm the only one she really knows. and she has the stereotype that we're all a bunch of hippy freaks that do yoga and eat grass and make green smoothies. ;D

I live in Dallas now, and I don't get down there often because I don't have real weekends, but I was thinking about going down for part of my spring break anyway - it's the week of the 16th. If it's really happening on the 14th, maybe I could come! Thanks for motivating me to try and cement some plans not-at-the-last-minute...
my spring break is the same week lauren!! if you cant come down on the 14th, i would be more than happy to go to austin again some other time that week.
Okay, so as soon as I posted that, my husband called me, and I mentioned it to him, and he said, "we have to go to 's wedding in Austin that weekend anyway." Awesome. He didn't remember which day or time of day the wedding is, but as long as it's not at the exact same time or something... I think I will probably be there!

I would suggest changing the venue to the parlor because the vegan "pizza" at casa de luz is quite frankly gross and not actually pizza.

oh and the parlor is on north loop. coming from dallas, you would take 35 in to the city i'm assuming, well you would get off 35 at 2222 koenig road and take that west, turn left on avenue f? and then right onto north loop. anyways. thats generally where it is. you should definitely get better directions.

they use follow your heart mozzarella and make their own vegan sausage and pepperoni, but they often times run out... its so good.

It's the only option for speech-language pathology here, which is what I'll be graduating from hopefully sometime this year (although 3 more years for my other degree!)...
Thanks for the directions - I'm excited about getting to try this place, if I end up being able to come.
