wow dairy in mc donalds fries??
I guess I wasn't too keen on eating them anyway, but in a pinch I thought it was only the fact that the friers were shared with nonveg stuff. Now it turns out the fries themselves contain dairy?? (wheat too). How?? Why?? Yuck.
amazing, what thoes fast-food resterants will do to make a quick buck. it's sad really.
Wasn't McD's sued for putting beef fat in their fries a few years back?
McDonald's fries have never been vegetarian in the US. They are treated with beef flavoring before they come to the stores. The addition of dairy would mean more to someone else than a vegetarian or vegan.
Potatoes, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, natural flavor (beef, wheat and dairy sources), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (to preserve natural color). Cooked in partially hydrogenated vegetable oils (may contain partially hydrogenated soybean oil and/or partially hydrogenated corn oil and/or partially hydrogenated canola oil and/or cottonseed oil and/or sunflower oil and/or corn oil). Contains derivatives of wheat and dairy, but has been verified by the University of Nebraska to be allergen and gluten free."
:o why doesn't that surprise me? ::)
Did Burger King change their formula? Last I checked they used chicken derived flavorings, as did Wendy's. Unless I'm just out of the loop (which is entirely possible as I haven't eaten at a fast food joint in AGES).
The dairy disclosure was mainly for people with food allegies to protect McDonalds from lawsuits. I imagine that this would also be of interest to Jewish non-vegetarians who don't mix meat and milk.
McDonalds is pure evil-don't be surprised at anything they do.
