Reasons to frown

Ok, so we have a smiling thread.  This thread is for all of the little dumb things that make you frown, or angry, or sad, etc., etc.

I'll start.  I had chili for lunch today.  I brought some crackers for the chili and a banana for breakfast.  THE CRACKERS ABSORBED THE BANANA FLAVOR THROUGH THE BAG, SO I HAD BANANA FLAVORED CHILI FOR LUNCH! >:(

I made a loaf of Amazing Rosemary Bread last night and Hugo just knocked it off the counter, dragged it across the kitchen floor, and chomped off a big chunk. >:( I'll probably cut off the iffy spots and eat it anyway, but still.

That stuff is good.  Hugo is lucky to not get sent to the doghouse.

He got sent outside.  I was about to put him out anyway, but at least this way I didn't have any guilt about it. ::)

The first time I made it, something told me to make a double batch.  DS17 had some friends over for a RPG night and they devoured 3 loaves in 10 min.  the only reason I had the 4th left was I told them it was off limits.  It was wonderful with the lentil soup.  Hmmm, I need to make more again soon.

Thank you Krista, mine is rheumatoid too and it sucks so much.  I stalked your profile and I see you got it even younger than me...extra sucky!  Mine showed up at 31, now I'm 48.

I actually have had it for a long time. I got it when I was 12 and it took them 2 years to diagnose me. So I have had it more than half of my life which sucks. Sorry you have it too. It's a misunderstood disease and I find that most people don't understand it. They don't expect someone young to have arthritis and think it's an old person disease. They don't understand the pain involved either since you can be fine one day and the next day, barely able to move.

Are you an exercise fiend?  Two of my friends have had RA since they were young and they are the two fittest people I know because they have to exercise so much to be able to move.

I need to exercise more, especially since I have a desk job. I am actually doing better with my RA than when I was younger but I know that exercise would make it even better. I don't know what to do about my hands though when they get painful since you can't really exercise them. Sometimes I just massage them and put something warm on them to help.

That bread is seriously epic.  My neighbor with the rosemary bush moved away and took her plant with her, and I was seriously sad.  Yeah, I'll miss her, but I'll miss baking rosemary bread whenever I want, more.

Frown.

you should get your own plant! start your own mini herb garden on a patio/windowsill. It's easy to maintain and that way you always have herbs on hand :)

The new stove/oven combo is supposed to arrive this week. This is Wednesday and not a peep. Which probably means it will turn up Friday which is my busiest day of the week.

Also Foundmagazine.com has copped out. Their new website posts random finds from the past, no new stuff...and comments are gone. User profiles are gone. Now it's all about sellin' that merch, I guess.
Ugh.
They will soon find out that people have lost interest while they were off trying to grab that cash, just like Secret Vespers when he slid into book-promo-only.
Major RTF.

Krista, my grandmother's doctor told her to knit to keep her fingers moving.  She was a whiny-butt when it came to pain and would not do it.  Now Aunt Shirley claimed it really helped her.  It may be worth a shot.

I was taking the recycling out and when I got outside, there was some guy I didn't recognize who'd already put my bins out and was filling them up!  :o He was very large and I didn't exactly feel comfortable telling him to gtfo of my bins.  I mean, I don't care if they use my bins, but at least let me put my stuff in first.  I called DH and told him that I suspected the guy was doing some work for my next door neighbor (who's number I don't have), and he called her to see what's up.  Apparently she's moving and they decided to take over our bins without asking.  The guy came over and apologized, but I wasn't going to tell him to take the stuff back out of my bin.  I managed to fit half of my recycling on top, but now I'm stuck with the rest of it for 2 weeks until the recycling truck comes around again.

not cool, pg, not cool at all!
When we lived in a shitty flat that was part of a big old house we would 'top up' everyone else's recycling bins on rubbish day, because we always had more than would fit in our bin*, but I would always wait till the others had put their bins out on the road, i.e. they had put all their own recycling in first so we weren't taking their space!

Hope the guy understands you actually want to use your own bin, and doesn't try this again next time!

* student flat, where all the husband's mates would congregate multiple times a week and drink a stupid amount of alcohol = many many bags of empties to carry down to the bin.

I'm going to have to go back to washing diapers every 2 days instead of every 3 days.  Vincent is peeing SO MUCH lately.  I've also had to start getting up in the middle of the night again to change him.

Is he drinking a lot more lately?

Not as far as I can tell, but I don't really keep track...I just refill his waterbottle whenever it gets low.  He also seems to poop out a lot more than he eats. ::) Apparently toddlers are just weird like that.
