Weird day at work

I didn't how to name this post, but I believe that I still had to tell what happened at work today. I work in a TV news room in production. Today, one of the desk editor asked me to find some visuals from seal hunting. I thought, huh... great...  :( Then he added, nothing too bloody please. That really hit me, so I told him, well, it is seal hunting, there will be blood, it is disgusting, it is cruel, it's hunting! If people are too sensitive to even watch that, why don't they do something about it? People need to realize that know killing animals is not humane, it's slaughter!

Maybe this is something that should go in the debate forum, but really, I just wanted to tell you about that experience.

Yeah, I mean, all you can say is, "Sorry, can't help you there--seal hunting is all about bloody and upsetting." And then I would have found him the grossest, bloodiest most upsetting shots in the archive. Make em think--even if they don't want to!

In fact, especially.

That's what I kind of did. I didn't really "censor" my search, because even if I wanted to be not upsetting, I would have had to take visuals taken from a plane where you don't really anything. What would be the point of showing seal hunting if there are no seal hunting in the picture?

In the end, all of this went for nothing, because the segment was cut ten minutes before going live. The joys of live television.

BTW, the story was really about this Green Party candidate from Newfounland who goes against party line by supporting seal hunting. Just thought I'd let you know.
