I love to brag about how little I paid for something. Like my $2.00 boots, or $14 Tofurkey dinners. This thread is dedicated to all the good deals we find! 8-)
I just scored (2) three pound tubs of Earth Balance for $2.99!
At this gross discount grocery store which hardly has anything vegan, they had these HUGE ASS tubs of EB (commercial size?) for $2.99 each. I did not realize until I got home that she only charged me for one, and NO I did not go back to correct her error! It is sort of far away (now I'm sure karma will bite me in the ass at some point). But jeez.....6 pounds for 3 bucks! I need to take a picture so you can appreciate how large these are. They are bigger than my head.
Anyone else get any good deals lately?
the tofu at the asian market comes in a 4 pack (4 smaller blocks all in one pack) for .99 cents, but if I buy it at the regular store, its $2.50 or so....
i usually get tofu from the asian market for a dollar. or kroger has it sometimes for 2/$3. the asian market is always awesome too because they have smoked tofu also, and super cheap veggies. ;)b

I'm pretty sure we've scoped out the cheapest tofu in the city, but still not sure whether it's actually good compared to your good deals or not! : )

Yeah, one of the larger blocks like Nasoya.
The blocks I get are 19 oz which is bigger than a normal block. I think those are like 14 or 16.
hrmm. Our tofu comes in packs of two blocks, totalling ~25oz and the best price we can get is $2.69 for a pack. We're really happy with that though because up till a few months ago we were paying $3.99 from another asian shop, which is still way better than the price at the supermarket.
If I were a smaller person, I'd tell you all to go to hell ;)

hmmm, the tofu in the chinese supermarket here sells tofu for NZ$for 2 blocks...but have no idea on the weight. I assume it's the same one oww buys.....but the tofu is softer than I'm used to. I prefer the stuff in the supermarkets, but that's a smaller block for more $ so I'm not sure what to do.
I had a GREAT day yesterday. I went to the Goodwill nearby my house and I found "Raw Food, Real World' there for $1.79. After I purchased it I found the tag on the inside, for $37.50. Score! :)
Oh it feels so nice to get a really good deal.

Have you tried freezing/thawing/pressing it to see if you like it that way? This is pretty much the only tofu we use for everything, so that supermarket block I bought for brunch at Theo's was really weird/dry/solid to me! Hope you can find one you like! : )
ha! what an idiot I am. It's $3 per pack. I definitely prefer the supermarket stuff like the stuff you had at theo's, but am torn because of the price.
Cams and I went to Kroger yesterday to get tempeh, but got distracted because they had Purely Decadent Coconut Milk Ice Cream pints for $2.99. That's dangerous. Then we got further distracted by the 1/2 gallon So Delicious Coconut Milk, which was $1.99 with a $1 off coupon on the box! $0.99 for 1/2 gallon of coconut milk!??!! NUTS!! I'm actually going back now to see if there's any left.
This Saturday I stopped by a Goodwill store and scored a pair of jeans and an Earth Divas purse for a whopping $1.89!
i scored two spools of cute ribbon, a skein of cotton yarn, a lemon squeezer juicer thing, some pretty flower printed duct tape, two BIG bags of mixed buttons, and a small thing of all green buttons (for only one cent!) for all under $10 at Micheal's this morning. Hell yeah, bargain aisle.
ok, everyone sit down. I just got 3, five pound bags of Daiya Cheddar for $1.49 each. Yes. It is true. I am going to freeze most of it and give one bag to my friend.
