I just scored a....... (a thread about finding great deals!!!)

I  love to brag about how little I paid for something. Like my $2.00 boots, or $14 Tofurkey dinners. This thread is dedicated to all the good deals we find!  8-)

I just scored (2) three pound tubs of Earth Balance for $2.99!

At this gross discount grocery store which hardly has anything vegan, they had these HUGE ASS tubs of EB (commercial size?) for $2.99 each. I did not realize until I got home that she only charged me for one, and NO I did not go back to correct her error! It is sort of far away (now I'm sure karma will bite me in the ass at some point). But jeez.....6 pounds for 3 bucks! I need to take a picture so you can appreciate how large these are. They are bigger than my head.

Anyone else get any good deals lately?

WHY WOULD YOU WANT YOUR SALADS TO BE DIZZY??

Amy, I've been wanting a salad spinner, too! I like it because we grow greens at my house and it's so much easier to thoroughly wash the lettuce and greens with one.

yeah how do those things work?

For lettuce and greens I just run water over them.

I want dizzy salads!!

nah, srsly I don't really get it either.  I rinse my lettuce and then just shake it a lot to get the water off.

yeah i mean if anything wouldn't the spinner be more inconvenient? you'd have to wash it, store it somewhere, get it out, etc.

dude!!! if you make salads in bulk a salad spinner is key! it gets TONS of water off the leafs so it stores better! i don't have one now so i do things the old fashion way and only make 1 salad at a time (i have all my other salad toppings prepped and ready to go)... if i premade my lunch salads (usually 4 days worth) with wet-ish lettuce they would be gross fast... honestly, buy a spinner and witness for yourself how much water is on the leaves after rinsing... i dare you! and you can just rinse it clean <3

kitchen gadget use list:
1st) salad spinner
2nd) magic bullet
3rd) rice cooker

then end :)

Hmm I guess it makes sense if you're making a butt-ton of salad. Some kitchen gadgets are like that.

But until I'm feeding an army, I'm stickin with my low-budget method ;)b

It was all at Kroger's. Some close out sale or I don't really know what to call it. I just know they rarely have them on vegan foods so I stocked up:D

Yes people, hit up Ralph's/ Kroger... I got so much yummy vegan convince food I typically would not buy cause it's usually too expensive!!! i got to try all 3 Tofurkey Pizzas, lots of Amy's frozen grub, Tofutti Cutties... Go before it is all gone! It's like half off or more!

THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!
