lol
It doesn't say if it's shade-grown. :-/
I don't buy a lot of coffee, so I look for the trifecta: organic, fair-trade, shade-grown
what does shade-grown mean?
Coffee grows in vegetated areas but people will clear-cut rain forests to plant crops, which limits biodiversity and increases the potential for erosion (which leads to water pollution). For bird enthusiasts, the clear-cut areas also eradicate habitat for migratory birds. Grounds for Change, a coffee brand, has a good synopsis -> shade grown coffee
thanks, hh!!
I'll try to find out if it's shade grown. It would be weird for it to be organic, fairly traded and not shade-grown. Maybe it's more common than I realize though?
Btw- vh, if you're interested in the concerns when it comes to coffee, this is a really good article to read---> http://www.sdearthtimes.com/et0295/et0295s1.html
lolol.
I will probably buy that.
