You are here

what is your favorite brand of hot sauce?

mine is Valentina,  but I love trying new ones......so tell me your favs.

The chili garlic stuff tastes more like pure chili to me, vs sriracha which is more of a sauce. and sweet.

garlic chili paste for asian stuffs or "rooster"/ aka sriracha

I was wondering about this... Huy Fong makes sriracha (with the rooster), but they also have a "chili garlic" sauce. It's in a jar type thing similar to the sambel oelek. Have you had the chili garlic, or just the regular sriracha? I want to try the chili garlic.

Ditto, I'd really like to try the chili garlic next time I hit up the store. I love love love Sriracha so much more than other hot sauces. My next favourite would probably be Frank's Red Hot followed by Tobasco. I really aught to try some different brands since I really really like hot sauce.

well the sriracha i get is in the squirt bottle with the rooster...

and yes the chili garlic is in the same type of jar, with the rooster, as the sambel oelek, but it is better!

i discovered this because the chili paste at the thai restaurant i love is a different tasting chili paste... cause it's the garlic chili paste!

get it... i think it is better than chili paste and different than sriracha <3

Dude, it has a great flavor! I love spicy food probably more than I should, so it isn't too spicy for me (has a nice kick, though!). I think the fruity flavor of the habanero pepper is amazing.

I've had several bottles of it over the years. My best friend is from Canada and goes to this big music festival called Shambhala. The first time he tasted it, he KNEW he had to get it for me because I love all things spicy. I have never seen it for sale in stores :(

Awwww, thank you eric!  I love that my peppers are getting the love from you!

I must admit, my favorite is my own.  It is a blend of carribbean reds, red serranos, aji limons, and cayennes and it will set you on fire!  Other favorites include:

St. Pete Heat's Mean Green
St. Pete Heat's Hell Screamin' Habanero
Matouk's Calypso
Ass Kickin' Original
Vicious Viper
Jamaica Hell Fire (Doc's Special)
Datil Do It Devil Drops
Iguana Radioactive Atomic Pepper Sauce
El Yucateco Chipotle
Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally Habanero
Gator Hammock (Lethal Gator)

I have about 30 different types of hot sauce in my refrigerator/pantry at any given time.

Glad that I'm not the only one who appreciates that habaneros have a flavor and not just heat.

I hate sriracha.  It is way too sweet!

I use Texas Pete for basic stuff, really like TJ's jalepeno sauce, and buy various brands of carrot-hab sauces when I go to gourmet/specialty foods stores.

DH likes the Tabasco Chipotle and also the new Texas Pete Chipotle.

Texas Pete is really good. I've never tried the TJ jalapeno stuff. What is it comparable to?

San Luis (love, love, love)
Valentina (the black label one)
Cholula (love when i want some smokey spice)
Tapatio ( if there's nothing else)

I used to love the habanero stuff but I stopped eating spicy food when I was pg 5yrs ago and am now building up my heat tolerance again.  I love hot sauce made out of chile piquin.

We eat a lot of sriracha in our house, requiring us to buy the huge squeeze bottle that stays on the table at mealtimes. We also consume mass quantities of Louisiana brand hot sauce; it's the only kind my husband really likes. We had the good fortune to find a variety pack of different flavors of Louisiana, including chipotle and roasted garlic. That went over very well.

Storm, I want to try your hot sauce!!!

My plants are in their third bloom and should be loaded shortly.  I'll be more than happy to spread the heat!

There is a new love in my life:

Jalapeno, Habanero, and Naga/Bhut Jolokia!  It hurts so good!  >:D

Edit: this is what I had on hand as of October, but 6 more have been acquired since then.
