I just got back from Portland, where I spent the weekend with the fabulous crew from VegNews at Vida Vegan Con, the first ever vegan blogging conference. It was probably the most fun you can have while sober, and I think we cleared Portland out of all its vegan food. I'm bummed to get back to real life, and definitely in need of some detox. The superstar vegan athlete's latest book teaches you how to eat to live, instead of living to eat. Po-tay-to, po-tah-toe. Plus, its filled with all sorts of info on being the healthiest vegan you can be! I suggest you place the book next to a bag of vegan marshmallows in your pantry to achieve true balance.

Trying out my new (slightly used) John Deere riding mower that will be delivered on 9/2...
the usual on Monday...school, work, parenting...thinking about taking the kids swimming on Sunday, so that should be fun.
Hmmmmm....what will I be doing for the big weekend? Grilling out of course-portobello burgers are a favorite, as are our home grown yellow squash and peppers and onions. Maybe visiting the grandparents.......nothing too exciting!
Spending my first weekend at home with my hubby in almost a year!!!!
I went out for sushi with my boyfriend in the afternoon, and then I got together with some friends at Fire & Ice for a back-to-school/visiting friends dinner.
