try to get through the whole thing (2 short pages). The first will piss you off so bad you'll want to stop, but even if you hate him (you will) he makes a good point at the end. Although I wish he'd found a different way to demonstrate it.

It is true, as this article mentions, that horsemeat is consumed in France (but sold in separate shops)...however for some interesting reason it is NOT to be sold or served in restaurants to tourists. Maybe they know that there would not be a good reaction to that...
You can eat horse meat here in Japan.
You would never know it because it's sold as "sakura", a very blaise name for horse meat.

Doesn't stop them from serving snails. . .
I've seen it in restaurants in Belgium, France, etc. though never indulged...yuk! (Back in my pre vege days).Trust me they serve it to anyone that wants to buy it.
When I lived in Italy, my Swiss roommate was obsessed with the grossness of "Bisteca di Cavallo".

I tried horse when I was living in Switzerland a few years ago, both at a restaurant and at home (had a French roommate who I swear wouldn't have recognized food if it wasn't dead animal or pre-made and out of a box). It wasn't bad, but psychologically it was more difficult for me to consume horse flesh than other meats that I had grown up being told were "ok" to eat... :P
