ugh that sucks. but at least it'll be back to normal by the fall. it's weird, cuz lately i've seen avocados on sale a lot around here. ???

I usually pay $1.49-$1.99 each..unless they are on sale. I have seen "bacon avocados" for .99 lately..but I was scared to get them...

bacon avocados suck, believe you me. They taste like all the grease with none of the flavor :(
I usually get the bags of four at TJs, though the prices changes all the time - I remember one point it was 2.50/4! sometimes it's $4/4 though -_-
I am all for the Mexican avocados. I had some when I was in Guatemala and they were the BEST. Then again, I've noticed that plenty of avocados I've had here in CA are already from Mexico (I guess CA ships their avocados elsewhere...), and ironically the "calavo" brand always seems to be from Mexico. And they're just regular-tastin' avocados.

No, they're just a breed. I looked them (& fuerte, I tend to get them mixed up) up yesterday, and there was someone saying that the ones we get are crappy for whatever reason, but locally grown ones (i.e. in Mexico) are awesome. Either way, I'm stickin' with Hass and other Guatemalan varieties.

Well, they are organic ones..I'm sure I could still get the regular ones 10/$10, or whatever, at Safeway. :shrug:

I've never even seen one in a market that is made in the US. That's a shame. They're $1.50 each here so I think that's reasonable.

Last week I paid 28cents per avocado..I bought 8 of them ;)b this week they were 59cents a piece .. ^-^ avocado happiness :)>>>
