PETA email about Petsmart

This just showed up in my inbox from PETA as I was busy being an IDIOT here with the last topic:

http://www.peta.org/feat-petsmart.asp

It took me a while to get here -- what was the last topic you were being an IDIOT with?

Edit:  :D    That really looks like the typical sarcastic / rhetorical question I might ask after Dave leaves such a fine post as that, but I meant it. It seemed as though you meant something by it, like possibly making some sort of reference to PetSmart or something relevant to this in that "last topic you were being an IDIOT with". . .really, what topic were you referring to?

oh that makes me so angry! this is so tough simply because i know that lots of people have great relationships with their pets, even hamsters and mice and fish. but reading something like that really makes me want to say that people shouldn't have rodents as pets. it's hard to ignore a sick or hungry dog who is much better at communicating with humans, but when i think of all the rabbits and hamsters languishing in their cages in basement rec rooms or in the back of some 9 year old kid's room, hungry and sick, it makes me so sad. when you go to a pet store and see mice on sale for less than a cup of starbucks, how can you expect people to value their lives?

Well said.
Since several years ago, I REFUSE to buy "pet" supplies from any store selling pets.
I only shop at online stores and my friends are all rescues (some from nasty "pet" stores).
I'm posting this link on my ferret care blog.  :'(
