What DVD are you watching lately?

I have BBC's Persuasion on, but I can't really get into. I've heard thought that BBC's Sense & Sensibility is good. Of course I"ve watched the Ang Lee Emma Thompson version which is superb... I may get it this week to see :P
Veganrun, I've almost rented I've Loved you so long so many times. I will definitely rent it now!

I watched From a Whisper to a Scream last night. It has Vincent Price and made in 1986, so he's pretty old. He doesn't have a main character like you would assume from most of his movies--he's more of a story-teller. The movie is actually a series of vignettes that he loops together. For a horror movie, it's actually pretty good, and for an '86 movie I'm shocked at how realistic some things looked. It's actually a little jarring and surprising, and I don't typical get "horrified" by horror movies. So, I think it pushes the line really well. If you're into slightly cheesy horror that's actually decent, watch this!

I'd like to see that in English. In Spanish it wasn't very good but it came out during the dictatorship so the script may have been altered in the dubbing. You wouldn't believe what they did to Mogambo.
I watched The Men Who Stare at Goats the other night, and I loved it. It had a such great mix of dry humor, inside jokes, and Jeff Bridges that I was hooked. I honestly don't know how long the movie is, because I enjoyed it so much it flew by. My bf really enjoyed it too.

We watched Fantastic Mr. Fox last night. Although I'm not a huge fan of seeing chickens killed, I know that's how nature works for foxes....and it's not real! I couldn't get over the detail necessary to do the stop-motion of the film--the characters and the props looked amazing. It just blew me away. The storyline was okay, but it's worth it to see the artistry that went into creating the film. Oh, and there are quite a few stars in this too--George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Mario Batalli. It's fun to pick out their voices.
Just bought the Planet Earth box set on Blu-ray....I've been non-stop with earth documentaries and specials. Nature is just amazing. I've only watched one episode so far. The "Caves" episode is really awesome!

I think your PBS special sounds good! I love PBS.
Trying to watch "A Year in Provence" with John Thaw. I wouldn't go for it myself but it's a present from a friend. It's a particular type of British humour.
