Chunky Sick Day Soup

What you need:

1 cup broth (from cube, powder, packet, etc.)
handful chop suey from a can (I've got tiny hands)
handful frozen spinach
handful frozen broccoli (cut into small pieces if you've got the energy)
1 teaspoon chopped garlic (bottled is fine)
1/2 teaspoon curry paste (optional, any colour is fine)
some textured soy protein or ground 'meat' if you've got any

What you do:

You can definitely use fresh veggies if you've got the energy! But sometimes you just want something quick and somewhat healthy when you've got a cold.
Using the rough measurements I've listed will give you a soup with very little broth so you might want to add more broth.
Defrost your veggies under hot water or in the microwave (if you don't mind using one). Drain and rinse your chop suey.
Bring the water to a slow boil and throw everything in there.
If you're using a mix of fresh and frozen veggies then use whatever mental capacities your sick brain is left with to figure out when to throw in an ingredient. I use fresh broccoli and cook it for 2-3 minutes before adding the other veggies.
I use fake ground chicken and add it at the very last second. Oh, and I use soup from a packet that includes a bit of noodles, so I guess you could add a little quick cooking noodles if you feel like it.
You might want to also add some ginger (fresh or from a bottle.. I don't recommend powdered ginger) or hot sauce. or whatever else you feel like.
Serve with crackers or buttered toast/bagel.
...this would also make a good post-snowboarding/skiing/sledding soup.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This looks comforting and tasty.  But I have to say, I don't want to see the words "Chunky" and "Sick Day" together!  ;D
