Pittsburgh Potato Soup

What you need:

3-4 cups water
8 medium potatoes, diced
1 small white or yellow onion, diced
2 stalks of celery, chopped
4 cans cream of celery
2 tablespoons parsley
1 tablespoon liquid Smoke
1 tablespoon oil
salt and pepper to taste

What you do:

Dice the potatoes into the size you desire, and add it to the 3-4 cups water when boiling. Dice some of the pieces smaller than the others so they boil away. Add to the thickness and taste of the soup. Add the chopped celery.
Add the oil to a skillet and fry the diced onion until soft. Add to the potatoes and celery. Boil until the potatoes are sufficiently cooked, and turn the flame to low.
Add three cans of the cream of celery and stir until evenly mixed. Add the fourth can if you so desire for taste (I always do.) Add the Liquid Smoke and parsley. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Made this soup last night.. it was great.  I didn't have the liquid smoke, but I'm sure it would be a great addition.  Also, I added peas, corn, and leeks as well as some cumin.  It was very flavorful and the recipe made a TON!  It was great, highly recommended!

Pittsburgh caught my eye.

Looks to me like this is kielbasa soup sans kielbasa.  Pittsburgh has a lot of us Poles which would make this soup semi-Pittsburgh-y.  :D

I have been living in Pittsburgh my entire life but never came across a recipe called "Pittsburgh Potato Soup".  Is this just your creative name or is there a traditional pittsburgh potato soup of which I am unaware?!
