great recipe!  even my husband who doesn't like tofu likes this one.  he can generally pick out if i've used tofu (he's omni), so i was pleasantly surprised when he liked this one - particularly since i like it so much.

I love this pie!!!  It is so easy to make and I love that it just has a few ingredients.  I used to make french silk pie all the time before going vegan and I feel like this really approximates that taste and texture well (and with much less work).  I don't use the coffee though, because I am not a java drinker and thus have no coffee around my house.
And my non-veggie boyfriend loves it.  :-)

I used peanut butter instead of coffee and garnished the pie with whole peanuts :)

My friends, who had tried tofu dessert pies in the past and hated them, absolutely loved this pie and couldn't tell there was tofu in it.

awsome!!  better than the non-vegan versions!!  was a bit too much chocolate at first but everything seemed to even out the next day!  our oldest son, who hates everything vegan, loved it!

My family was iffy about this pie. My brother's vegan girlfriend said she liked it and my diabetic grandmother loved being able to partake in yummy dessert, but others were unimpressed by the dark chocolatey-ness. It wasn't as sweet and creamy as normal chocolate pie and I used soft tofu instead of silken, so it was rather firm. I thoroughly enjoyed it, however, and I'll be tweaking the recipe in the future, it's a keeper!

How do you get the chocolate chips to evenly distribute.  I even used melted chocolate and it didn't come out homogeneous.

Ok, so I have been making this pie for a while now, and I thought I ought to finally review it... It is simply amazing (as if you didn't believe all of the other posters above me) and, like other posters, I have successfully fooled many a meat eater with this one... My roommate who absolutely won't eat anything new (99% of the time... i do remember once he tried tofu in a stirfry... but he didn't like it.) (quote from another occasion: "That smells good, what is it?" "Lentil soup" "oh. I don't like that. you know how i know i don't like it? Because I've never had it.") but i made it for his birthday and he loved it.

just made it again tonight, and i'm excited because i got some varied fresh berries; it's gonna be scrumdiddlyumscious when we eat it manana.

This pie was super easy to make and the taste was incredible, a very rich chocolate taste.  Everyone loved this pie even my brother who turns his nose up at anything vegan ate two slices of this pie.  Will be making again very soon for Thanksgiving!

This was really really good for being so easy and quick, not to mention full of tofu (I used light firm silken and a Keebler ready-made Shortbread crust--vegan!). itsjustaride said it was really rich, and I agree... I think it was a little too rich actually, and unlike itsjustaride, I never say that about anything. Next time I might try it with fewer chocolate chips (and more tofu maybe??). This would also cut down on the calorie count, which I am sad I calculated, because it's a little scary, my friend. Almost 350 calories per 1/8th of the pie. Buuuut like I said it was really good. Tofu is quite awesome.
