Start The Day Out Right Powerhouse Breakfast Smoothie

What you need: 

approx 1 cup hemp milk (plain)
1 banana (optional: frozen)
spinach (not frozen or thawed)
1 or 2 tablespoons ground flax seed
3 ice cubes (not needed if fruit is frozen)
a few melon cubes (I prefer frozen)

What you do: 

Wash the spinach well and tear into pieces. The pieces do not have to be very small as a good blender will liquefy them. Rip the banana into 2 or 3 sections, no need for perfect slices as it is going into the blender too. Cut up the melon into a few golf-ball sized pieces. Add all the ingredients into the blender -set to liquefy if you have the kind of blender with specific settings. Let it run for at least 30 seconds before checking. Run a spoon through to see that all the frozen fruit and/ or ice has been liquefied.
*If you have never tried spinach in a smoothie be brave and try it! It turns the smoothie a slightly green colour, but does not add any taste (I think) or leave bits of solid spinach in your cup. You will feel great knowing there is something so good for you in your drink!

This smoothie was excellent!! I didn't have any melon, but nonetheless it was great!!! Will definitely become a staple in my diet!
