Almond Mint Shake

What you need:

1 1/2 cups raw almonds
3 cups almond milk
6 to 10 dates
1 1/2 dozen large mint leaves
1 tablespoon flax oil (optional)
2 cups ice (optional)

What you do:

Almond milk is usually most easily found at health stores, my personal preference is Pacific. When using the "Pacific" brand, I suggest refrigerating it for several hours before use.
The mint leaves should be peppermint or spearmint.
Put the almond milk and dates into the blender and blend until it is finely done. A medium setting should do the job, when blended for about 30 seconds.
Add the mint, also blend that in for about 30 seconds.
Add the almonds, blend for a full minute. Now add the ice and flax oil if desired.
Enjoy!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I didn't care for this recipe very much. The flavors are good but the "shake" is extremely watery. I ended up having to double the amount of dates (and triple the mint in order to give it a real minty flavor), and it was still really watery. Adding ice made it nice and cold but thinned it out even more so I added frozen banana, which gave it a good consistency but overpowered the almond flavor.

Just made this recipe and didn't care for it at all. I probably should have left the flax seeds out as it just tasted too nutty and that didn't go with the mint at all.

I love almond milk and almonds and I love mint so I thought this would be a new favorite of mine.... oh well.
Thanks for posting it anyway as it gave me some ideas for other shakes I can try.

I tried this recipe. It was very good.
...not exactly like the mint flavoring I remember from my non-vegan, ice cream eating days, but still delicious!
