Cheater's Fried Okra

What you need:

2 cups frozen chopped okra
4 tablespoons cooking oil
Bragg's liquid aminos, to taste
4-5 tablespoons cornmeal
salt and pepper, to taste

What you do:

1. Pour the oil into frying pan and add the frozen okra. Cook over medium heat. Let the okra thaw ever so slightly so that you can break apart all the pieces that have clumped together. Make sure all the pieces are coated in oil.
2. Once you have a flat layer of partially-thawed okra, give it a few generous squirts of the Bragg's and then sprinkle the cornmeal evenly over the entire thing.
3. Stir the okra around as needed so that all pieces are evenly covered ready to be fried up nice and crispy. Add salt and pepper as desired.
4. After a few minutes, take a spatula and gently flip over the okra. Keep an eye on the okra and continue flipping/stirring as needed until all pieces have reached your desired level of crispiness.
That's it! If the cornmeal isn't sticking, try adding more oil. If the okra looks bare, add more cornmeal. The end result will not be the prettiest thing you've ever seen, but it should curb your sudden craving for down-home cookin'.
This is a quick-and-dirty way to get the great taste of fried okra while avoiding having to make batter and spend forever chopping and breading the sticky buggers!
