Heavenly Chocolate Chip Cookies

What you need:

1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 egg substitute
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 packets artificial sweetener or equivalent to regular sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 vegan chocolate bar (or vegan chocolate or carob chips, or any other candy or candy bar)

What you do:

Put all dry ingredients together then add in wet ingredients. Mix until doughy consistency, then break up your candy or chocolate bar and stir in.
Drop onto cookie pan evenly. This recipe makes 6 giant cookies, but you can make more smaller ones.
Bake in preheated 350 degrees oven for 8-12 minutes or until slightly brown near edges.
I LOVE baking, and this was one of my many experiments.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I really hate posting negative reviews, and I'm by no means a tough food critic, but these cookies were awful! They tasted like air.. bad air, and they were sticky after a day in tupperware. I followed this recipe exactly except for using regular sugar in place of the artificial sweetner. There was absolutely nothing special about these cookies. I won't be making these again :(

Oh and I cooked them exactly 8 minutes and they were light brown on the bottom and still slightly gooey in the middle (YUM).  They taste alot like Chips ahoy chewy brand.

I added another full cup of flour to make the dough workable enough to spoon onto the cookie sheet.  But they turned out really good, and so easy!  Definitiely a small batch tho - 6 large cookies is about it.

Haha I love this recipe, I just made a double batch to take to a cast party! I simply doubled everything but this time used 4 tbsp instant potatoes for the 2 egg sub, except the dough was way too dry so I added 3 tbsp applesauce. The dough was super sticky, but after 12 mins in the oven I got these really fluffy cookies! Much better than the first time, though they were still kind of rubbery. Very delicious, thank you for posting this recipe!

I just baked these, and they were totally delicious! I had a few problems though. The dough seemed kind of thin so I added 3 tbsp flour but I don't think it was enough. The cookies came out kind of sticky and rubbery but I think that's because I used 1/4 cup applesauce as my egg substitution (in addition to the applesauce called for in the recipe). I think I might try again with like 2 tbsp instant potatoes or something as the egg sub. Also, I baked then for 12 mins and I checked with a toothpick but I don't think it was long enough. Might be the applesauce causing problems again lol. And I used 1/4 cup vegan chocolate chips instead of a chocolate bar.
Great recipe, thank you!

These are really good.  I liked them because I didn't have any vegan butter or shortening and they didn't require any.  They're already gone and I'm about to make some more!!!
