yeah.. instead of excruciating pain, these women have trained themselves to feel orgasmic.. some couples even make out during it!

There was a show on BBC America a few weeks ago about women who buy dolls and push them around in baby strollers and pretend they're real babies. These women spent thousands of dollars to buy them and then bought designer baby clothes. The women seemed a little kooky.

yeah that was on this too. the one had like 32 or them or something and threw them bday parties and made them cakes..

So sad I missed it. Perhaps it will be on On Demand. I thought I saw something as I was flipping through channels yesterday early evening called "Extreme Motherhood" but it wasn't a 20/20 episode... I don't think it was on BBC either... I'll go investigate today.

i learned that the girl from the clip we saw back on page 1 finally stopped breastfeeding cus one day she just lost her sucking mechanism and couldnt do it anymore. i guess if her body decided enough was enough even if her mind didnt think so.

I think with the nursing it's between the mother and the child. One or the other will wean due to whatever reasons...it's not really anyone else's business. At some point the older child will feel uncomfortable nursing as a 15 year old or at some point the mama will say ' No more!'..... everyone else can just myob

I mean, yeah, every mother can do as she chooses, but that doesn't have anything to do with whether it's developmentally sound or healthy. Just like I have a right to spoon feed my child until the age of 15 or allow her to wear diapers til age 8. That would be my prerogative as a mother, but that dosen't necessarily make it the best decision.

If I were an adoption agent, I don't know if I would give a real child to these people. Maybe they've tried and were denied? A few of them on the 20/20 show said that adoption was too expensive for them, but then they spend crap tons of money on fake babies and their accessories. Who knows ::)

Yeah, but fingers can be pointed in judgment for anything and everything, including being 'vegan' or choosing to drive a Prius over an 'American' car etc.... or being Taoist vs. Christian....etc... not just breastfeeding. My point is that some kind of sanction or reason, such as the child does not feel need to be comforted in that way, or sanction by peers or family members, own discomfort, etc, will be the deciding factor. I don't see this as abuse, perhaps not mainstream. But all these social norms have been established to keep things 'orderly' and I'm all for challenging the establishment. I don't see it as a 'more'. Screw the mores. Sociology is a crime. But I guess you could say I'm somewhat of an existential nihilist.... so there. If you ask me, formula is deadly.... especially the kind with lactose/milk powder because of tainted Chinese dairy....but that could be a whole 'nother thread titled...."Boycott China Free Tibet"......

one of the women who did this actually had multiple grown children and grandchildren, but she felt like this was her way to have babies stay babies forever. she even invited her granddaughter to the dolls bday party. (i wonder what was going though that girls head)
